A few weeks back I joined the lovely team from Foodies Festival at the EICC in Edinburgh for another Foodies Christmas. Having taken part in the festival last Christmas, I was really looking forward to a weekend filled with festive fun and good food!

This was my fourth time demoing with Foodies Festival [my second Christmas] so the nerves were much less and the excitement much more. Once again I joined the wonderful Charlotte White of Restoration Cake in the Cake & Bake Theatre – by far the best part of Foodies ;)

What I love so much about Foodies is the little family that has formed amongst us in the Cake and Bake Theatre. Charlotte is like my baking big sister and at Christmas she makes the journey to Edinburgh with her equally lovely husband, Chris. Another prominent feature in our Foodies family is Steven of Flare Photography who I need to thank for these amazing photos from the weekend.

Christmas Truffles which I was demonstrating across the weekend in the Cake and Bake Theatre. Always a festive hit!

The amazing Michelle of Clootie McToot – the maker of the most delicious Clootie Dumpling. I literally just ate a bowl of the stuff behind the scenes on Saturday #sorrynotsorry
Clootie Dumpling ready for tasting.

The great Tom Hetherington of GBBO, complete with flashing Christmas jumper!
Selection of goodies ready for the infamous End of the Show Show.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Amy Reid

Amy is the voice-behind and creator-of Baking with Granny. The daughter of a professional baker, Amy grew up in the house which was filled with cakes & bakes. Once her own two children came along (and her mother became “Granny”), it was suddenly obvious that many of their family recipes would be lost in time, if not written down now. And Baking with Granny was born! Amy now takes Granny’s recipes from years gone by and transforms them from bakery quantities, to easy home baking recipes that people around the world can make and enjoy.
