Accessibility Statement
At Baking with Granny, I want everyone to be able to enjoy my recipes. I aim to make the website as accessible and easy to use as possible, whether you’re using a screen reader, keyboard navigation, voice control software, or simply prefer clear, easy-to-follow instructions.
Accessibility is an ongoing process, and I’m continually reviewing and improving the website to make it more inclusive for all visitors.
What I’m doing
When creating new content and updating existing recipes, I aim to:
- Write clear, easy-to-follow recipe instructions.
- Use descriptive headings to help visitors navigate each page.
- Add meaningful alt text to recipe images wherever appropriate.
- Ensure sufficient colour contrast for readability.
- Keep the website responsive and easy to use on mobile devices.
- Avoid relying solely on colour to communicate important information.
- Use plain English wherever possible.
Known limitations
Although I work hard to improve accessibility across the site, some older content may not yet meet the same standards as newer recipes. For example:
- Some older images may have less descriptive alt text.
- Older recipes may have formatting that I’m gradually updating.
- Some embedded third-party content (such as videos or social media posts) may have accessibility limitations that are outside my control.
These are reviewed whenever I update existing content.
Compatibility
The website is designed to work with modern web browsers and assistive technologies. While I can’t guarantee compatibility with every device or browser, I aim to follow current web accessibility best practices wherever possible.
Feedback
If you experience any difficulty using Baking with Granny, or if you spot something that could be improved, I’d genuinely appreciate hearing from you.
Please get in touch via the Contact page, letting me know:
- The page you were visiting;
- The problem you experienced;
- The device and browser you were using (if known).
I’ll do my best to investigate and improve the experience wherever I can.
