Us Scots love some oats. Of course there’s porridge, everyone’s favourite winter warmer to set you up on a dreich day. And oatcakes which our youngest has recently found a fondness for; dry, with no butter, cheese or chutney – we’ll introduce him to that luxury in time. Mars Bar Slice

Mars Bar Slice. One of the easiest tray bakes but with delicious results. Mars Bars melted with rice crispies and topped with a generous layer of chocolate.

I’ve two prominent memories from my childhood that involve Mars Bars. Random, I know. But being such a well-known and well-loved chocolate here in the UK, I doubt I’m the only one! And if you have never had a Mars Bar (is that even possible?!) you are missing out – but fear not, this Mars Bar Slice is the perfect introduction to a life-long chocolate bar romance.
