If you follow Baking with Granny on Facebook you will have seen the excitement over the fact we recently done a 5-day feature of recipes with the Scottish Daily Mail. Unfortunately, our feature clashed with the arrival of the “Beast from East”, meaning we were unable to get the last few days worth of newspapers locally – a problem which I understand a lot of people had too!Read More
Caramel Slice

Dundee Cake
When it comes to cake, I still feel like I’m on a journey of discovery. Cakes were always what Granny made when I was growing up and as such, I never really took to them. Too much of a good thing! But since growing up and moving away from home, I have rediscovered cake in all it’s glory. The latest cake to join my newly discovered all-time favourites is Dundee Cake.Read More
Custard Creams
There’s two treats that I remember my own Granny baking. The first one is of course her infamous Coconut Ice. And the second is Custard Creams. Even Granny raves about this recipe as being the best custard creams recipe she’s ever used. High praise indeed!Read More
Perkins
One of my most favourite things to have happened since starting Baking with Granny is people sharing what they used to bake with their own Granny. It was never the initial expectation behind sharing Granny’s recipes here but it came naturally with the concept. Some of the recipes people mention are already here (Shortbread and Fly Cemetery), some are in the works and others I’m not always familiar with. Perkins biscuits was one that was requested on Facebook – one I hadn’t heard of before but of course, Granny had a recipe stashed away.Read More
Chocolate Peppermint Creams
I don’t know about you but alongside spending time with family, my favourite part of Christmas is the food! From something sweet for breakfast (lets be honest, it’s usually a selection box!) to turkey with all the trimming for dinner, as well as all the Roses, Celebrations & Heroes in between. But by the end of the day when bellies are full, there’s always room for one more thing; after dinner mints! And these Chocolate Peppermint Creams are the perfect home made festive treat that anyone can make.Read More

And just in time for Christmas, she’s got another beautiful book, Nadiya’s Bake Me a Festive Story.Read More
