INSTRUCTIONS

  • Line a 20cm (8 inch) square baking tin with some greaseproof paper and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, melt the butter/margarine and Mars Bars over a bain-marie or in short bursts in the microwave.
  • Add the rice krispies to the melted ingredients and mix well, ensuring all are coated.
  • Tip the mixture into your prepared baking tray and push down with the back of a spoon, ensuring an even finish right into the corners. Leave to set in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
  • Once set, cut your Mars Bar Slice into your desired size and place on a fresh piece of greaseproof paper, with a little space between each.
  • Melt the white chocolate over a bain-marie, or in short bursts in the microwave. Allow the chocolate to cool slightly before drizzling it over your Mars Bar slices. Finish with a couple of edible eyes, stuck on with some excess chocolate.
  • Allow the chocolate on your Mummy Mars Bar Slices to set for at least 2 hours before enjoying.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

All my recipes are developed using a digital scale and the metric system (grams and millilitres). Cup measurements are available as a conversion but these, unfortunately, won't always be as accurate. For best results, I always recommend baking with a digital scale.

RECIPE NOTES:

Substitutions:

  • Rice Crispies: Any puffed rice cereal will work for this recipe, so use whichever brand you have to hand.
  • Mars Bar: While readily available in the UK, Mars Bars aren't available worldwide. If you are in the States, Milky Ways are the equivalent of Mars Bars.
Storage: Store your Mummy Mars Bar Slices in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. If your kitchen is particularly warm, you may prefer to keep them in the fridge to prevent the chocolate from softening.
